About Us
Established in January 2006, the National Dragonboat Club (NDC) is a not-for-profit incorporated paddling club dedicated to the development of paddle sports, in particular the discipline of dragon boat. The NDC was founded by Blake Hara, Fred Heese, Sue Mitchell, Doug Tutty, Konrad Doerrbecker and Jeff Daniels. These 6 Directors are all paddlers and coaches themselves, with deep roots in the paddling community and know first hand what is required to achieve paddling excellence.
The NDC endeavors to make paddling accessible to all who are interested, and to develop the sport at the highest level in order to showcase Canada's excellence in dragon boating on the world stage. We offer discounted rates to high school teams. Our change room and washroom facilities at Sunnyside Pavilion are barrier free, and our docks have easy access from the beach, steps away from the boardwalk.
NDC Vision -- to be the best dragon boat club in Canada.
