Practice Info -- Schedule
On the right are links to the daily practice schedule, which is updated every 24 hours. Simply find the time and the team on the left. A "1" represents days that the team has training on the date specified at the top. Totals for the hour are shown on the last row. We are able to safely accommodate 10 boats per hour.
Please note that any discrepancies in this schedule should be reported to Joel at 647-295-3968 by the Team Captain ASAP.
The NDC is one of the largest dragon boat Club providing practices by volume anywhere. Our staff of 30+ coaches are comfortable working with novice teams looking to learn and have fun, to elite teams needing that little technical extra to make it to the next level.
Each team must confirm their schedule with the NDC before arriving at the practice site.
Weather and Cancelling Practice
There is one factor that none of us can control, and that is the weather. We are fortunate to be afforded some protection from wind/waves by the breakwall and the number of trees along the shoreline. However, there will be times when high winds, large waves and/or lightning will result in practices being cancelled. In the event of foul weather, the NDC will notify teams by posting on the home page, and updating the Weather Line. Our promise to our teams is to have both systems updated by 3pm on weekdays, and 7am weekends.
There will be times when sudden changes in the weather result in last minute decisions to cancel practices. Although rare, the NDC must consider the safety of the athletes first and foremost. If your practice is cancelled, please contact Joel by phone or email to reschedule.
Please note that rain does not result in a cancellation.
Training Packages
New for the 2008 season are competitive packages which include video- and still-photography bonuses offered to those teams with High Performance coaching. The NDC encourages all of our high performance coaches to review technique with the teams off-water.
